The World of 11 Mill

11 MILL is a design house rooted in the historical legacy of Indian textiles. Guided by the traditions of zardozi, beaten dabka (pitta), and zari work, each garment is developed through a dialogue between past and present, combining time-honoured hand techniques with a restrained contemporary sensibility.

Historic architecture, archival textiles, decorative objects, floral landscapes, and the artistic language of India’s regal past form the foundation of each collection. These influences are translated into thoughtful embroidery on the finest Indian fabrics, preserving the essence of tradition through a contemporary lens.

At the heart of 11 MILL are its karigars. Their knowledge, refined and passed down through generations, shapes every garment with remarkable precision and care. Their craftsmanship is not only preserved but celebrated, ensuring that these enduring embroidery traditions continue to thrive in a modern context.

Balancing structure with softness and ornament with restraint, 11 MILL creates garments intended to outlast seasons—pieces shaped by history and crafted for the present.

About The Designer

Vasundhra is the founder and creative director of 11 MILL, a design house shaped by her interest in Indian textiles, craftsmanship, and the stories embedded within them.

She studied Knitwear Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai, before pursuing an MA in Fashion Cultures and Histories at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Her education has informed a thoughtful approach to fashion, allowing her to explore the relationship between history, material culture, and contemporary design.

Her master’s research examined the relationship between luxury fashion and labour, deepening her understanding of the people whose knowledge and craftsmanship sustain the industry. This research became the foundation for 11 MILL, where she works closely with generational karigars to celebrate traditional embroidery practices while creating garments for the present.

11 MILL is an ongoing effort to honour India’s rich craft traditions with sensitivity and respect—creating pieces that value the hands behind them as much as the work itself.
